## Description

Most storage racks are sold on what they hold. This one is worth buying for how it goes up. There are no bolts and no fasteners: the beams hook into slots punched down the full height of each upright, and the decks drop in on top. The whole unit stands in about the time it takes to clear the floor space for it, and there is nothing to drop behind the water heater.

Be clear on what it is made of. The frame is powder-coated steel, matte black. The shelves are solid engineered wood board, the light-brown kind you will recognise from every warehouse rivet rack — which is exactly what you want here. Nothing small falls through a solid deck: a box of screws, a bag of potting soil, a stack of loose paperwork all sit flat and stay put. Keep it indoors and dry; board decking and standing water do not agree.

Those slots are the real feature. Each tier repositions in one-inch increments, which is the difference between a rack that fits your paint cans and one that almost does. Set the bottom bay tall for bins and totes, keep the upper tiers close for jars, cans and small parts.

Each shelf is rated for up to 400 lb and the whole unit for up to 2,000 lb, with the load spread evenly; where the published figures differed, we quote the lower one. At the base, non-slip feet with levelling legs take up the difference on a garage floor that slopes toward the drain.

Pick the size by depth, not by height. The Medium is 28 in wide, 12 in deep and 60.2 in tall — shallow enough for a pantry wall, a closet or a narrow utility alcove, and it clears a low basement ceiling. The Large is 35.55 in wide, 16 in deep and 72 in tall: four extra inches of depth is what lets a standard storage tote sit fully on the shelf instead of hanging over the front edge. Both are drawn to the same scale in the dimension diagram, so you can see the difference before you measure. Measure the bay before you order.
