What to check before you buy
Measure shelf depth and height
Standard cabinet shelves run about 12 inches deep. A riser or bin that exceeds it won't let the door close, and that's the most common return.
Airtight means a gasket
A snap lid is not airtight on its own. Look for a silicone gasket in the lid if the container is meant to keep flour or coffee fresh.
Check the dishwasher line
Many lids are hand-wash only even when the base is dishwasher safe. Heat warps the sealing ring first, and a warped ring stops sealing.
