This is the shelving unit you have seen a hundred times without noticing it — in the back of a café, in a stockroom, in the corner of somebody's garage that finally got sorted out. There is a reason the design has not changed in decades. It holds a great deal, it takes up 24 by 14 inches of floor, and it does not pretend to be furniture. The shelves are open steel wire, which matters more than it sounds. Air moves through them, so damp boxes and washed containers dry instead of sweating. Dust falls through rather than settling. And you can see what is on the shelf above you without pulling everything down to check. Under each shelf, cross wires run in a V pattern between the rails — the reason a wire deck this open does not sag in the middle. Setting it up needs nothing from the toolbox. Plastic clips snap onto the posts at whatever height you choose, and the shelf slides down the post until it seats on them. Change your mind later and you move the clips — there are no fixed positions to design around. The manufacturer puts the job at about ten minutes. At the base, each leg ends in a screw-in leveller, so a floor that slopes toward a drain is somebody else's problem. Steel throughout, finished in black powder coat, rated by the maker for up to 750 lb across the unit with the load spread evenly.
