Most storage racks are sold on what they hold. This one is worth buying for how it goes up. There are no bolts and no fasteners: the beams hook into slots punched down the full height of each upright, and the decks drop in on top. The whole unit stands in about the time it takes to clear the floor space for it, and there is nothing to drop behind the water heater. Be clear on what it is made of. The frame is powder-coated steel, matte black. The shelves are solid engineered wood board, the light-brown kind you will recognise from every warehouse rivet rack — which is exactly what you want here. Nothing small falls through a solid deck: a box of screws, a bag of potting soil, a stack of loose paperwork all sit flat and stay put. Keep it indoors and dry; board decking and standing water do not agree. Those slots are the real feature.
