- Four one-piece steel columns — no mid-height joints along the uprights
- Diagonal bracing across the frame
- Steel decks with three reinforcing ribs each, on extra-wide support beams
- 24 in deep on every size — deep enough that a tire sits flat on the shelf
- Rated by the maker for up to 1,500 lb per shelf (4-tier) or 1,600 lb (5-tier), evenly distributed
- Adjustable shelf heights
- Six sizes: 59, 63 or 71 in wide, in four or five tiers
Most garage shelving is sized for boxes. This is sized for the things that do not fit on shelving — a set of winter tires, a generator, a crate of motor oil, the compressor that has been living on the floor since you bought it. The difference is in the uprights. Each of the four columns is one piece of steel from floor to top, so there is no mid-height joint where two sections meet and work loose. Diagonal braces run across the back and sides. The decks are thick steel with three reinforcing ribs underneath, sitting on beams wider than the usual channel, which is what lets a single tier carry a number like this. Every size is 24 in deep. That is the measurement that decides whether a tire sits flat on the shelf or hangs over the front edge, and it is the reason this rack takes cargo that a 12 in utility shelf simply cannot. Choose 59, 63 or 71 in of width, and four tiers or five — the 5-tier configurations all stand 71 in tall. The maker rates the 4-tier at up to 1,500 lb per shelf and 6,000 lb overall, and the 5-tier at up to 1,600 lb per shelf and 8,000 lb overall, with weight spread evenly across each deck. Shelf heights adjust. Assembly is required; the parts arrive labelled with a step-by-step guide, and at 89 lb in the box this is a two-person carry even if it is a one-person build.
